    Pros +

    • Great location. It was right on the water. The sound of the waves was amazing. The pool large and had a nice area for learning to dive. And the women who massages to the best we’ve had in Bali.
    • The location was unmatched for diving and watching the ocean. The pool was lovely, the food was really good, and the rooms are well arranged.
    • The location was good, in this mecca for divers and snorklers. Staff was very friendly.

    Cons -

    • It was more expensive than we wanted. We booked a standard room, not realizing that it didn’t have air conditioning. It was small and sparse and old and sad, so we upgraded to a room with air conditioning. But it was also sparse and sad. There wasn’t a table next to the bed so we had to leave things on the floor, and there was one light for the room. And the bathroom wasn’t very clean and it was sparse and sad.Even though breakfast was included, the breakfast options were a pancake, toast, or noodles. I’m allergic to wheat so I was expecting to order eggs, which I did, but I had to pay for. The coffee was weak and the cups were small, and when we asked for a 2nd cups, those got added to our bill. Anything extra asked for breakfast, we got charged for it.The location was fantastic, but I think next time we would want to find somewhere else to stay because this place was too expensive for what we got.The owner was very nice, and the staff were nice too.
    • The property was a bit outdated, which in some ways we really liked, and in other ways could have used a bit of attention, but we would still stay there again as is!
    • We were NOT given the room that was pictured on the net, but an older one in mediocre condition. Bedside reading light blown out, no mosquito netting, holes in window screen stuffed with toilet paper by previous guest ... manager responded to this report by saying "Oh there was a guest in there a day or two ago; he must have done it"... The fact that no one noticed this is indicative. The 'shower' was a flexible hose attached to the bath faucet, but it would only reach to mid-chest, so one had to sit in the tub to shower. The tub was deep and narrow, with nothing to grip when getting out, so getting out was VERY difficult; it took me, a senior, several frustrating minutes. The only bath amenities supplies were a couple of tiny bars of soap.I was told that there was a safe, but discovered after searching that it was a locking wooden cabinet."Breakfast included" was a choice of pineapple of banana pancake. That was it.We were told that the place was being renovated. I hope that they make SUBSTANTIAL improvement.

It is in a very convenient location, just on the seaside. The coral reef is a 50-meter swim away. An extraordinary wrecked ship is easily reachable, offering a spectacular experience if you dive around it or even just snorkel above.

Breakfast could be more generous. Renting snorkeling equipment was expensive - about 50% the value of the equipment for one day

Our rating of 8 is based on the current hotel status, with construction. We have no doubt it will be back to a 10 once the repairs and upgrades are complete! Loved the infinity pool overlooking the ocean. Location for shore diving and snorkeling can not be beat, you are steps away from the best dive sites in Tulamben. The staff was incredible, friendly and accommodating - big thank you to Gede for all his logistics help, and to Juli, Ketut and the entire kitchen staff for keeping us well fed. While there is currently no dive shop on premises (they are building a new one as of Nov 2024) Gede (manager) was amazing in coordinating all our diving logistics, and the shore diving is available literally steps from the property, even during construction.

The hotel was shut down for several years and is currently in the process of being brought back to its former glory. So while we were there (November 2024), construction was going on for new rooms, a new dive shop, etc. This did not bother us, as we were happy to see resources going into repairs and upgrades, but it can present minor inconveniences.

    Comfortable room, nice pool.

    No aircon

    Good location

Got bed bugs staying here. Overpriced accommodation for no air conditioning

    9StanislavPosted on: 10-18-2024

Nice cooking, good swimming pool. The place near "underwater temple", it is suitable for snorkeling. Very friendly and good personnel, rooms are cleaned.

    1. It was divers hotel, the requirements is slightly low, but the bugs in the room is not good neibours. 2. Eggs is not included to the breafast.

    9SarahPosted on: 10-5-2024

Staff were lovely and very helpful, room was very spacious, location was perfect.

Bed wasn't very comfortable, there isn't actually a dive centre attached anymore, they organise for you to go through a dive centre down the road which ended up being more a bit expensive than other centres.

*Fantastic location with a nice Coral Garden right there and USAT liberty shipwreck 300 meters away*Helpfull staff, that gave us advise about the city and helped us with transportation to our next stay, they also allowed us to trade the included pancakes in the breakfast for eggs prepared in a variety of ways.*Room was nice, but get the one with aircondition, even though the price is very steep, it is well worth it.If in doubt about where to live in Tulamben, then I can assure you that the location of this Resort i phenomenal. Which was the reason we chose it.

There were cockroaches in the bathroom when we arrived, that seemed to be coming from the bathroom drain. Wish they would put some kind of metal mesh into the drains. Out Solution was to put a stone to block it when it was not in use, which seemed to keep them out.Although cockroaches is really common everywhere in Indonesia, so I would not disqualify the place on that premise.

Gede and the staff were wonderful in accommodating all our requests. The location was perfect for diving and snorkeling the reef, the food from the restaurant was excellent. The pool and surrounds were great.

Not much to dislike, bathroom looking its age but clean. No fridge or kettle in the room.

Good deal hotel and a very helpful staff. The bungalows were clean and build with the local standard accordingly. I felt being in the middle of the jungle with the ocean nearby

AC not available for all room

    Location

No longer a dive centre on site, no fridge in room , some hot water would be have been nice in the shower. Place looks like it needs a revamp and it appears from the building work that they are revamping it, I’m sure this place will be amazing next high season

    7GordonPosted on: 9-4-2024

Nice people, simple but ample breakfast.

Old building but renovations happening. rp200k extra for aircon is a bit steep. No tv, barfridge or coffee/tea making facilities in room. Neighbor hotel could look in our bathroom!

    6AmeenPosted on: 8-15-2024

Nice beach side pool made it a good stay.

Washrooms not clean, no ac in the room.

    8StuartPosted on: 8-8-2024

Location was perfect and view was amazing. Staff were helpful and friendly.

Could do with a fridge in the room

    6AnnettePosted on: 7-29-2024

Location was fantastic snorkeling right off the deck along great coral and fish life and then the US Liberty is right there!!! The pool is good, food was good and staff were lovely ?

Just wish the restaurant had a more fun vibe with music and lighting as the menu was great but the place felt a little sad.

    8EkaPosted on: 7-27-2024

It's a bargain for the location. The beach is right at the back of the hotel. We only have to go down a few steps for beach access. Oh by the way, bring your snorkeling gear because the coral garden is just right there. On a plus side, the Liberty Ship Wreck is only a 5-minute walk or you can also snorkle there. My family enjoyed watching the sunset from the swimming pool. The restaurant offers a variety of dishes and drinks.

I only wish the hotel provide a way for guests to pay with credit cards. I had to pay in cash. They also offer local bank transfer but I can't do it because I don't have any account at any local banks.

The seaview suite is great for the price (particularly liked the bathroom) and any accommodation on the waterfront gets my vote. Pool a bit small but clean, clear and a nice 2.5m deep end

Restaurant average. The free breakfast is very light, DO NOT get the pancake, it's awful, luckily you can cheaply add anything from the menu, various types of omelette for example
